FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DNP Photo Imaging America® and LifePics Innovatively Merge Kiosk and Web Technology to Deliver Unique, Industry-First Photo Solution for Retailers
February 26th, 2009, BOULDER, Colo. – DNP Photo Imaging America®, the world's leading innovator of dye-sublimation photo printing solutions, in collaboration with LifePics, the leading online imaging service provider in America, today announced an exciting interface between both companies' latest product releases, merging kiosk technology with online photo services to deliver a unique, industry-first photo solution. DNP Photo Imaging America's® newest software, Tomo™, and LifePics proprietary software, LabCenter, will now be available together on photo kiosks and digital minilabs from DNP Photo Imaging America®, allowing consumers to upload, view, organize, share, and order prints and other products in a very intuitive, organized web or kiosk interface. Both companies indicate that the Tomo/LabCenter solution is the future of photo kiosks, and will be demonstrating the revolutionary new solution at this year's PMA show (booth H211).
Tomo's Print Turbine™ interfaces with LifePics' LabCenter to accept orders via retailer-branded websites and outputs those orders for the retailer's customer in-store. An available third-party application programming interface (API) also allows other solution providers to integrate directly into Tomo. Thus, LifePics customers seeking photo gifts, books, or other unique items can find them integrated into the Tomo catalog of photo products.
Ordering, sharing, and organizing albums are part of the Tomo/LabCenter experience, along with album annotations, picture captions, key word searches, and image retrieval tools that make organizing pictures easier than ever before. In-store, Tomo instantly uploads images to consumers' LifePics online photo accounts, and sorts thumbnail images for quick viewing and identification. Additionally, as it loads each image, Tomo intuitively applies red-eye removal and color correction as needed.
By adding DNP Photo Imaging America® dye-sublimation printers on-site, retailers can provide their customers with a full assortment of photo and photo-related products in stores. In addition to standard 4"x6" prints, the award-winning DS Series printers can produce instant photo revenue opportunities through items such as calendars, photo cards, and enlargements. The associated increase in foot-traffic and shopping cart size would not be realized if these product offerings were directed through third-party print providers and mailed directly to the consumer. The additions of in-store product offerings like these have proven to grow LifePics' retailer's print volume revenue by 20% - 50% or more.
